Well, we’ve arrived. This is going to be my view for the next three days. This is the front area here, and the pond where I’m hoping to catch maybe a fish or two, and get my water that I will detox. Behind me is an open area that’s going to be my campsite. I’m thinking my inspiration is going to be ‘woody and rustic’, something very open. I’ll take some more pictures in a little bit. I need to get a tent put up, get some water purified, and get a fire going. Since I started my hike, the wind is blowing a little bit and it’s become a little chilly. But – Lighthouse 1 has arrived at the campsite and now it’s time to put up the tent. Signing off…
Day 1
campkitchen It’s about noon on Sunday, and I’ve made a lot of progress. I’d like to show you my new kitchen. The great thing about this rangetop is that it’s easy clean all the time – just let it burn off. Let’s see here – the lunch menu is….ramen noodles….great.

camptools Let’s continue with the tour of my new surroundings. This is the utility area where I keep my tools. Let me tell you – this little crosscut saw has come in very handy! I’ve already got enough firewood to last me another hour or two, and that’ll be my big chore for the rest of the afternoon – cut more firewood and get my little plastic jug filled up with water. I have some cheesecloth to filter out some of the big impurities, and I’ve got some tablets that will sterilize the water, then I’ll be ready to rock and roll tomorrow with some drinking water.
